I still recall the view from one of the seven hills that surround Cincinnati, Ohio and the wonder that it instilled in me during my formative years. Even though we were of modest means, we enjoyed a dazzling array of lights. And the shadowy backdrops formed by skyscrapers carving out a night time sky fills me with a sense of nostalgia. The contrasting arrangement of light and darkness are as mysterious, romantic and captivating as is the human spirit and figurative expression.

I hope that these compositions translate as portraits, and that they evoke a nostalgia that is a kin to our physical and spiritual experience and to our shared experience.
