These works are the fruits of a back and forth process of adding and subtracting.

Searching for beautiful marks, one after another, only to paint myself into a corner.

Some marks are lost in the process. In building, layer upon layer, I am sacrificing good in search of great. I forsake some of the past for a chance at a glorious future. And finally I let go of what is done, and settle in a place of contentment and resolve. I seal it with a permanent clear finish, then I start again with a new panel.
